Framing
Our framing technicians and consultants are trained and experienced in a broad range of framing techniques from bespoke wood milling, staining, spraying and finishing to archival grade fixing methods to ensure the long term preservation of your artwork. We offer no obligation consultation services free of charge and are always on the lookout for exciting collaborations and unusual requests.
We cater for a wide range of framing clients, from one-off frames to large gallery or museum projects.
As there are so many variables and subjective decision making involved in finding the best aesthetic and practical solutions for your framed artwork, we advise you visit our workshop for a consultation or email your requirements to info@abliss.co.uk.
Edge Frame
Edge framing is a clean, effective way of exhibiting mounted photographic artworks. The edge frame adds a feeling of weight to the piece, combining the method of display with the artwork seamlessly making it register as an object itself.
The photograph needs to be mounted on a rigid substrate such and Dibond or Aluminium. The edge frame can be wood, metal, spray finished – pretty much anything we frame conventionally we can also use as an edging!
The work pictured is mounted on 3mm Dibond, and edged with a black, powder coated aluminium section.
